Mr Serkan Cengiz who holds a PhD degree is a Turkish lawyer and based in İzmir which is the third largest city of Turkey. He began his professional career in 1997 and since then he has been representing a number of clients before domestic and international institutions/courts including the European Court of Human Rights.

Apart from practising law, he (as free lance expert/trainer, part time lecturer,  member of the steering committe of the human rights centre of the Union of Turkish Bar Associations and part time expert for Council of Europe) has been taking part in many awareness and education activities (seminars, conferences and workshops etc.) organised for mainly Turkish jurists/lawyers concerning the European Convention on Human Rights and individual application to the of the European Court of Human Rights and the Turkish Constitutional Court.
